Monica always showed how much she cared in every session we had. She would check on me throughout the week to make sure I was doing okay and I always really appreciated that. The advice was very helpful and I will hopefully return back to working with her in the future.

I am Monica Sosa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Mexico. I earned my Bachelor's in Family Studies in 2010 from the University of New Mexico and my Master's degree in Social Work in 2014 from Western New Mexico University. For the past 13 years, I have gained experience in and enjoy working with a variety of ages, problems and situations. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and client centered therapy primarily; however, I often adjust my technique to meet the unique needs of my client. I specialize in treating individuals with mental health issues such as complex trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, grief, loss, family conflict, substance use, conduct, neglect, and abuse. Through my work, I am committed to helping people overcome depression, anxiety, and other stresses that affect all of us at some time in our lives. Some methods I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Based Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. When it comes to family challenges, I employ a positive parenting and attachment parenting perspective and truly enjoy helping parents implement new and hopefully more rewarding ways of interacting with their child(ren). I have an easy-going, warm approach to therapy and I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
