More about Helen

  • 6 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP, NCPS

I am a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor, licensed in the UK with five years of professional experience. I hold a CPCAB Level 5 qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP and an accredited member of the NCPS.

Alongside my private practice, I work with a local eating disorders charity and spent many years volunteering with a national bereavement charity. I have a particular interest in helping clients navigate complex emotional landscapes including eating disorders, obesity, body image distress, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues and grief,

I also hold the Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity qualification from the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED) — one of the highest levels of specialist training available in this field. My training integrates Enhanced CBT (CBT-E), nutritional awareness, and evidence-based psychological approaches to support clients with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, emotional eating, ARFID, obesity and body image concerns.

As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to suit your unique experiences and goals. My work is grounded in person-centred values and draws from psychodynamic theory, somatic processing, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural tools. I offer a calm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can explore what’s really going on for you — whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply in need of support.

I believe therapy can help reconnect you with your inner resources, improve your relationship with yourself and others, and lead to long-lasting, meaningful change. Taking that first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to support you on your journey.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
