I enjoyed several sessions with Nicola and each time I was met with compassion, kindness, patience and respect. I never felt pushed into talking about anything I wasn't ready to talk about, whilst simultaneously feeling encouraged to explore topics that were perhaps a little tricky to navigate yet done with grace and empathy. Would highly recommend Nicola x

More about Nicola

  • 5 years' experience

Hello, I’m Nicola, a qualified integrative therapist based in the United Kingdom. I have over five years experience supporting clients through grief, loss, and trauma, abuse, life changes, stress, anxiety and those who identify as neurodivergent.

I work integratively, drawing from several therapeutic approaches to suit your needs. This includes person-centred therapy, offering space to explore your feelings without judgment. Psychodynamic work, helping you understand patterns rooted in past experiences and CBT, supporting awareness of thoughts and behaviours. Your therapy experience will always be collaborative and tailored to you.

My approach is rooted in the understanding that healing is not linear, it’s a deeply personal journey that unfolds in its own time and in its own unique way and I offer a calm, compassionate space for anyone struggling with emotional distress, relationship difficulties, low mood, anxiety or a general sense of feeling lost or overwhelmed.

You may be navigating change, facing relationship challenges or carrying the impact of past experiences, my practice is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, with an emphasis on safety, autonomy and respect for the many ways people experience and make sense of the world. Whatever brings you to seek out therapy, I provide a safe and supportive space where all your emotions are welcome.

At the heart of my work is the belief that being truly heard with empathy, warmth and non-judgment can be a powerful catalyst for healing and self-understanding. I believe you are the expert of your own story and that you already hold many strengths that can help you overcome the challenges you face.

Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage and I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your healing journey, holding space for your reflections, growth and change, at a pace that feels safe for you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
