Stephanie is a good listener!
Stephanie was 10 minutes late to our first session. While I can appreciate some of her sessions going over time, I would hope in the future that she will be as on-time as possible.
It was a great first meeting.
This was my first session with Stephanie, so I didn’t expect everything to come together immediately, but I appreciated her calm presence and the space to begin sharing. Going forward, I think it would help me to have a bit more structure in our sessions, since I sometimes feel overwhelmed about where to start or which parts of my story to focus on. For example, my chronic health issues (POTS, tethered cord, MCAS-type symptoms) play a big role in my daily life, as does growing up with my brother who has Prader-Willi Syndrome and the family dynamics that come with that. I’d also like space to talk through my relationship with my parents, how I balance independence with responsibility, and how the stress of world events connects to my own anxiety and identity. Even though I know her calmness is part of her style, it would be reassuring if she occasionally checked in more directly or reflected back what she’s hearing, just so I feel grounded and know we’re on the same page. I don’t need all of this at once, but having a sense of direction and some guidance on which areas to focus on would help me feel less scattered and more supported. Overall, I’m glad we started, and I’m hopeful we can build from here.
She is by far the most professional therapist I have ever had. Thank you so much, Brightside Health!!!
