Welcome to Better Help! Making the decision to find a therapist can be challenging and finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. My approach is to make sure that you are comfortable and to provide you with a non-judgmental space to help guide you on your journey.

My name is Chioma (pronounce Chee-o-ma) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. Licensed in Texas, Oregon, Utah, and Colorado. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, racial trauma, especially those that come from a biracial or multicultural background. I utilize a holistic, and integrative approach when working with clients by using multiple modalities including internal family systems, cognitive behavioral, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. My approach is to help you find your happiness, regain control of your life, and show up as your authentic self.

I believe that the most important part of the therapeutic process is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to help you down your journey and help you reconnect to your mind, body, and soul. This process is about you and if you're ready I would be happy to help you on your journey.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Chioma has been a fantastic counselor and I cannot recommend her enough. She has been a great fit for my needs. She listened to my needs where I was having issues with other counselors, and helped direct my own efforts towards the goals and understanding that I felt I needed. She has been an excellent person to turn to about things I have been uncertain about, and helped me find the confidence to face them rationally. Scheduling appointments with her has been flexible and she was always on time for sessions, or communicated promptly if a scheduling conflict occurred. Chioma, I feel I have a much greater understanding of myself, and I attribute a great deal of that to our sessions. Thank you for your compassion and patience!

Chioma spent a lot of time with me in our first session learning about me and the different problems I'm dealing with now. She seemed to understand them well and knew how to ask questions that brought out more information for both me and her. I look forward to more sessions with her.
