A cornerstone of my treatment style focuses on strengths as a source for growth and healing. I believe that we all have innate qualities, strengths and abilities that can help guide us through difficult times and move to a more peaceful place in life.I do not want to learn only about the problems, but about the unique person because that is often where the best solutions lie.
Anxiety, depression and trauma can be very overwhelming and interfere with the full potential of life. I often teach relaxation skills such as breathing techniques and guided visualizations. I help clients identify personal triggers, negative thoughts and identify new preferred thoughts to reduce symptoms. As a family therapist I also focus on relationships, exploring ways to improve patterns of communication to increase positive connections with others as I recognize the importance of healthy social connections.
I have been working as a therapist for over 16 years with children, adolescents, adults and families in a variety of settings including residential, in-home therapy, private practice. I believe there are many avenues for people to seek and recieve support, and the online setting provides a unique expereince for client and counsleor to promote healing.
I started my career as a teacher where recognized that many children were not meeting their full potential due to social and emotional needs, and that the best part of my day was when I could talk with students and learn about them as people. I returned school at the University of Houston and earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy because I valued the strong emphsis on counseling skills and the recognition that our social connections are powerful influences on our pain and our healing.
I look forward to working with you, learning about your unique strengths, struggles and finding a path to increased satisfaction in your life!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Erin is incredibly helpful. This is my first time trying therapy/counseling, and she has made it such a positive experience. She is very good at listening and understanding my concerns. She also provides new perspectives and push the progress forward. She would also check in with me when I don't respond for a couple of days. Overall she is a great therapist and very professional. She actually cares about her patients!
Erin has been brilliant over the first few sessions trying to help me make sense of the difficulties I’m facing. She’s suggested coping techniques to help when I’m feeling overwhelmed.
Erin has been a wonderful counsellor for me from the start. I have had counseling with her for almost 3 weeks now and I feel a lot of changes in me. She listens to me and understands my concerns and respects my opinion. She shared some great techniques and exercises with me that have been really helpful. She definitely understands my struggle with anxiety and depression and helps me accordingly.
