More about Chrysoula

I am a qualified psychologist and psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist. My professional training began in 2008 with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Manchester, which provided a broad foundation in psychological theory, human development, mental health and research.

I have since completed two postgraduate qualifications at Master’s level: an MSc in Psychology of Child Development and an MA in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Leicester. These qualifications involved extensive personal therapy, supervised clinical practice and experience of working with people facing a wide range of emotional, relational and psychological difficulties.

I am also currently completing post-qualifying training in couples and relationship therapy with Relate UK. The Relate approach integrates systemic and psychodynamic perspectives, recognising that relationship difficulties are influenced both by each partner’s early experiences and attachment patterns and by the wider family, cultural and social systems in which the couple lives. It explores how unconscious expectations, past relationships and established ways of communicating may be repeated within the present relationship. Couples are supported to understand the patterns in which they have become caught, communicate more openly and develop more thoughtful and constructive ways of relating to one another.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). My work is guided by their professional ethical frameworks, standards and principles of good practice.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
