More about Emma

  • 5 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP

I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor. With over 5 years of practice and experience, I bring a blend of therapeutic experience, academic insight, and a calm, compassionate presence to my work, supporting individuals as they navigate the ups and downs of life and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way.

Life can throw all sorts at us, whether it’s the effects of trauma, loss, relationship changes, emotional overwhelm, parenting issues, career difficulties, recent diagnosis or just that sense of feeling stuck or disconnected. Whatever you're facing, therapy offers a confidential and supportive space to make sense of things at your own pace, without pressure or judgment.

My foundation is in Person-Centred therapy, but I primarily work pluralistically, which means I draw on different therapeutic ideas and approaches depending on what feels right for you. This element of psychoeducation is a cornerstone of the way in which I work. I’m especially interested in the neuroscience behind how we respond to life, how our bodies hold experiences and how understanding the nervous system can support healing. Whether that’s noticing patterns in how you respond to stress or gently exploring how trauma might be showing up physically or emotionally, we work together in a way that feels both safe and empowering.

At the heart of it, I believe you already hold the wisdom and strength you need; sometimes it just needs the right conditions to come through. I offer a space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. I won’t tell you what to do or try to "fix" things, but I will be alongside you as we gently explore what you’re going through and what might help you move forward.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
