More about Clair

  • 6 years' experience

Hello, I’m Clair. I’m an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MSc), working primarily with adults, as well as children and young people, both in person and remotely via video or telephone.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I practise from a person-centred foundation, believing that meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted. My approach is warm, collaborative and responsive. Rather than applying therapy in a rigid way, I integrate different perspectives thoughtfully to suit you as an individual.

I have particular experience working with early life trauma, attachment difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges and significant life transitions. I also do a lot of work with neurodiverse adults and clients within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Alongside my private practice, I have several years’ experience within local authority education and early intervention services, supporting 11–25 year olds in schools, community settings and online. My professional background also includes work with children and young people in residential and foster care settings, including care leavers, and supporting professionals in health and social care roles.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am a Counselling Lecturer, delivering training to trainee counsellors. Teaching keeps me reflective, current and deeply engaged with the ethical and theoretical foundations of the profession.

Whether you are seeking therapy for a specific difficulty or a more general sense that something doesn’t feel right, I offer a space where you can think, feel and make sense of your experience at your own pace.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
