I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia, psychological skills trainer, and mindset and manifestation coach. I work with adult (18+) individuals experiencing various mental health, relationship, and career challenges, role and life transitions, and various other issues.
My education includes a Bachelor's of Arts in Communication from the University of Kentucky and a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology.
My specialized training includes compassion based cognitive therapy (CBCT), trauma informed mindful cognitive behavior therapy (TI-MCBT), SMART recovery, grief/bereavement counseling, end of life counseling, assertiveness and boundaries, self-esteem and confidence, conflict resolution, communication, and many other teachable and trainable skills that aid you in transformation and empowering you to take good care of yourself.
You may be feeling stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or mentally and emotionally exhausted. Anxiety, ADHD, grief, trauma, relationship, or work stress may be weighing you down, making it hard to feel like yourself. Deep down, you want to feel more confident, calm, empowered, and connected—but you're not sure how to get there. You may be looking for clarity, tools, and support from someone who gets it. You want more than just coping—you want change that feels real and lasting. I work with adults who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and make intentional shifts in how they feel, think, and live through gaining knowledge, skills, self-awareness, and having new experiences.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Counseling and therapy can be a place of safety, insight, growth, humor, meaning, and real transformation. My approach is warm, kind, and collaborative and I can also be direct and challenging when necessary to help you stay on track and focused on what matters most to you. If you want to feel more empowered, aligned, and meet the next version of yourself, I’d be honored to partner with you. Incredible inner and outer change can occur when we are witnessed, non-judgementally, and seen through radical acceptance.
My goal is to empower you to make the choice of how you want to see yourself and your life and help you gain the knowledge, coping skills, and self-awareness needed to define, create, and maintain change. Counseling can help you to discover yourself in new ways and learn healthy ways of coping. Through a strengths based approach, I can help you realize and lean into your strengths while strengthening any areas of improvement you wish to address.
I offer interpersonal, person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care. Depending on the unique needs of my clients, I may utilize techniques and interventions from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectic behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, somatic (body based) therapies, mindfulness, existentialism, and spirituality (if welcome).

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Overall rating:
Supportive, Easy and wonderful to talk to.
Samantha is the best therapist I have worked with. She is extremely knowledgeable and provides suggestions that can be put into immediate action. She has helped me make a positive impact in my life.
I can't say enough great things about Samantha. She draws from an incredible wealth of knowledge - pulling from her professional training, personal experiences, a range of different therapeutic approaches. Her curiosity and interest to LEARN about human psychology is so apparent. She listens intently, creates an environment that feels so safe and approachable, helps me to understand from a research-backed perspective some of my experiences and how they impact me. She has tied together so many throughlines, helping me to see patterns and to understand how they fit into our bodies' physiological responses. I always leave with the feeling of having LEARNED so much. Thank you so much for what you do, Samantha.
She is amazing. Great listener and always know what to say. Always has skills or plans set so that I can succeed. Hands down the best therapist I have had.
Samantha knows and understands me better than anyone I have met. Her expertise has encouraged and helped me through some of the toughest times I have gone through. She is incredibly helpful and thoughtful; she knows how to help and guide you through any situation.
Samantha is fantastic!!
I know I can always count on Samantha to listen to what I want to talk about and to help me identify the why behind what is bothering me. She helps me by asking questions to help pull out the important information I sometimes miss myself. She’s also always available when I need her even on off times when we don’t have an appointment scheduled.
She is a great help for me.
Samantha is exactly what I was looking for in a therapist. She validates me when I need it, but isn't afraid to tell me when I've acted in a way that goes against our goals. She listens intently, remembers our past conversations weeks apart, and presses into subjects I sometimes don't even recognize need pressing with thought provoking questions. I also feel that she talks to me like a person instead of a patient, keeping our conversations personable and helping with spur of the moment emergencies or longer term/deeper trouble points. I hope everyone has a therapy experience like mine with Samantha.
She’s changed my life
Samantha is a professional through and through. She’s a great listener and an amazing communicator, and also has an amazing sense of humor. Talking to her is comfortable And Easy on the mind as she uses her expertise to guide and help you through your journey. She’s very understanding and funny and an excellent therapist.
Samantha is caring, kind and calming. I've only had a few sessions and I can already see positive changes in my life using the tools that I'm learning from her.
Samantha Hodges is a great listener and for the first time I am comfortable with a therapist.
