I've truly appreciated the therapy I've had with Shona. She is kind, empathetic, hugely insightful and experienced. She has gone above and beyond in her support and encouragement of me, while also being approachable and (appropriately) humourous. I've learned and progressed a lot with Shona's support whether it be practical resources, last-minute adjustments, or simply, feeling safer in the world.

I offer a warm, down-to-earth and collaborative space where you can explore what’s going on for you. At your own pace, and in your own way.

My practice is grounded in the belief that no one-size-fits-all approach works for everyone, and that we can all heal from whatever feels so difficult, as long as we are open and willing to explore and to listen to what is going on internally.

I will work with you to find the kind of therapy that feels most helpful. We can do this by drawing on a range of approaches some of which may include including person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, dialectical-behavioural and creative methods.

People come to me for many reasons; perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn.

Maybe you're living with the impact of trauma, navigating complex relationships, or struggling with anxiety, identity or self-worth.

Issues can tend to arise when we find ourselves moving further away from what is truly important to us and our sense of self as we navigate busy lives. As we move further away from

ourselves we may develop unhealthy patterns of behaviour or thinking which we use to use to avoid difficult feelings & emotions. As we do, we ignore signals from the body like anxiety, overwhelm and physical issues such as chronic pain or skin issues to name a few.

Whatever brings you here, I’ll listen without judgment and support you to make sense of your experiences. The aim is that we will work together to find your own way forward. To reconnect more deeply with who you are through the exploration of your values and belief systems. My hope is that this work will re-establish what really matters to you and help you to define what you want and need.

I’ve worked in various community-based settings including NHS  care and third-sector services both here in Scotland and outside of the UK. I hold an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling, a PGDE in Counselling Children & Young People and I’m a registered member of the BACP working in line with their ethical framework.

If you’re looking for a therapist who’ll meet you with openness, respect, and genuine warmth, I’d be happy to hear from you, and you will be most welcome!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
