I provide people of all backgrounds with a grounded, nonjudgmental space to be genuine, slow down, and look honestly at who they are and how they arrived here. Therapy with me is not about fixing who you are—it’s about understanding yourself deeply enough to decide where growth is needed and what no longer fits your life today.
As a licensed therapist in Louisiana and Texas, with over two decades of experience, I actively challenge clients in thoughtful, respectful ways to increase psychological flexibility. This includes learning how to reframe and reconstruct long-held viewpoints, examine patterns shaped by life history, and shift perspectives that may once have been protective but are no longer serving you. Your past matters—not as something to stay stuck in, but as a guide for recognizing what you are ready to keep, what needs to change, and what belongs in the archive rather than your present lifestyle.
I believe meaningful change requires honest self-reflection and full acceptance of who you have been, without shame or avoidance. From that grounded place, we can identify your current stage of change, clarify what growth looks like for you now, and move intentionally toward it—whether that involves radical acceptance, empowered decision-making, or actively choosing a new direction.
I work best with adults in their mid-twenties and older who are ready to engage thoughtfully in the therapeutic process. My clinical strengths include relationship dynamics, empowerment, identity development, perspective-shifting, and helping clients navigate periods of transition, breakthrough, or recalibration with clarity and purpose.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Jackie is an amazing therapist. She listens to me, offers great input, and leaves me with notes and homework so that I can reflect on our sessions. I would recommend her a million times.
She’s the best. I’m very grateful to have her as my therapist.

Jackie is awesome! Very attentive and understanding
Jackie is very personable. I have only had 2 sessions and it feels natural when discussing my matters with her. She provides a space where I feel comfortable sharing. I look forward to my growth as we navigate through each session .
Ms. Jackie is amazing, I have not been seeing her for very long but I feel like I’ve known her forever. She is so kind and welcoming.
Honestly, I am very grateful for Jackie! I was very hesitant to even start therapy, especially with it being online. I was worried it wouldn’t feel the same as having therapy in person but I just didn’t have the time during the day to go in person. But I am very glad I did start here, Jackie has been nothing but helpful and supportive!! She is very good at what she does and she offers such good hours for people like me who are busy during the day and need sessions available after hours. It’s only been 3 weeks and I’ve already felt such an improvement with only 3 sessions (even from the first one if I’m being honest). I am now recommending BetterHelp to my other friends as well. I truly am grateful for Jackie :)
Jackie is understanding and supportive
I am so grateful to work with Jackie. From the very first session, it was clear that she has incredible expertise and a deep understanding of the challenges I’ve been facing. She is an amazing match for me, and I always feel seen and understood. What stands out the most is her ability to relate to me on a personal level while offering different perspectives that have been incredibly helpful in shifting my thinking. She is not only skilled at offering insight, but also at providing practical guidance that I can apply to my everyday life. Her approach is compassionate yet insightful, and I always leave our sessions feeling clearer and more empowered. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who can provide both understanding and real, actionable guidance.
Attending therapy has been the best thing I could have done for myself, especially having a therapist as Mrs Jackie who is compassionate but real. Knowing and accepting I needed help was a big step for me. After talking to Mrs Jackie the first time I knew I made the right decision.
First encounter with Ms. Potts-Powell was a great experience. She made me feel as if my feelings were validated and reminded me that my concerns were human concerns. Excited about the process!
So much helpful insight so quickly. I never anticipated feeling so much relief after one conversation. I feel like this relationship has much more to offer.
Jackie Potts-Powell is a caring person who is vested in helping me become a more productive and better version of myself
