My work is rooted in a humanistic approach to therapy. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can talk through what is going on for you at your own pace.

Sessions are led by you. I am not trained or qualified to provide structured programmes of work such as CBT, worksheets, homework tasks, or formal treatment plans. I also do not offer diagnosis or assessment.

Instead, I offer a warm, supportive therapeutic relationship where you can explore everyday worries, life challenges, and emotional difficulties. I believe that being heard, understood and accepted can create meaningful change, and that therapy works best when it moves at a pace that feels right for you.

I also have experience working with women experiencing anxiety, including generalised worry, stress, self-doubt, and feeling overwhelmed by life demands.

At times, we may gently explore coping strategies if it feels helpful, but this will always arise naturally within the session rather than through structured techniques or between-session tasks.

If you are looking for a more structured or directive approach, such as CBT-based work or homework-led therapy, this may not be the best fit. I am happy to support you in considering alternative options where appropriate.

Hi,

My name is Beth, and I am a BACP registered person-centred counsellor based in Yorkshire. Person-centred counselling means that during our sessions I will provide you with a safe space to explore whatever is going on for you at the moment. This might be a current problem like anxiety, or a past issue you wish to process and make sense of. I cannot give you advice or tell you how to solve what is going on for you but I can help you explore your thoughts more deeply, offer a different perspectives, accept and validate you and your feelings and help you find suitable coping strategies to manage your experience.

I have worked as a counsellor in a range of settings including an eating disorder charity and further education college since 2022. I hold a postgraduate degree in Psychology, as well as several certifications including working with autism and supporting those with cancer. I am also certified to conduct phone and video therapy.

As a therapist I am most skilled in working with women aged 18-35 experiencing disordered eating, anxiety and low confidence but warmly welcome anybody who would like to work with me. I also embrace clients from within the LGBTQ+ community, in addition to those who are neurodivergent. My practice is built on trust, kindness and acceptance and everyone is welcome here.

I would be a good fit for you if you are looking for a gentle, reliable and compassionate counsellor who will create a safe and judgement free virtual space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in your own time.

I have session times available on Mondays between 10am - noon, and from 10am - 5pm Tuesday to Thursdays. Sessions booked at short notice can usually be accommodated but on occasion I may need to decline the session should this conflict with pre-arranged work commitments. Please message me if you require a specific time or day, and I will do what I can to help you.

Looking forward to meeting you soon,

Beth.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
