Tay "Angie" Nielsen is a graduate of University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in social sciences. She continued her education and graduated from Jackson State University in 2003 with the Masters degree in social work and received several awards in undergraduate and graduate school. She received her clinical certification in 2007. Since 2004, she has been specializing in the treatment of adults, adolescents and children with various mental health needs including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, ADHD, stress, anger management and trauma. In 2007 she founded a private practice that specialized in children, adolescents and families. Angie brings a wide range of personal experience to her practice enabling her to understand and empathize with the many issues her clients are facing. Her professional and strong ethics inspire her to grow intellectually and professionally. Angie's positive approach to therapy emphasizes the strengths and resources in each client. Since 2004 she has attended many seminars, conferences and trainings to further her education and continues to stay informed of new techniques while fine tuning and furthering her knowledge in the mental health field. Angie has been married for 40 years and has three grown children who are the light of her life. Her hobbies include spending time with family, traveling, shopping and music. Angie offers a wide range of therapeutic interventions including short-term solution focused therapy, stress management, CBT, DBT, trained in TBR and has been trained in attachment theory and attachment disorders.
