I am a senior counsellor with over 15 years of experience across mental health, career counselling and life transitions. I hold a PhD in Counselling, a Master of Counselling, a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Nursing, and I spent many years as an Employee Assistance Program counsellor supporting people through personal, workplace and career difficulties. Before private practice I taught and researched at university level. This blend of qualifications and work experience is unusual, and it means I can work with you on every part of a problem: what you think, what you feel, how your body is responding, your relationships, and your work.
Mental health: I work with adults and older adults on depression and low mood, anxiety, worry and panic, and stress and burnout I also work with trauma, at a pace your nervous system can manage.
Relationships: I offer counselling for couples on communication, conflict, distance and trust, and for individuals on attachment patterns, separation and breakup recovery, loneliness, and difficult relationships at work.
Career counselling and guidance: A career problem is rarely only a career problem. It usually has a sleep problem, a confidence problem or an old relationship pattern attached to it. I help with career decisions and direction, career change and redundancy, adjusting to a new role or country, burnout and work-life balance, rebuilding confidence after a setback, and planning the last stage of a working life.
Life transitions: Midlife and later life bring their own changes: menopause, children leaving home, caring for ageing parents, separation, loneliness and isolation, retirement and rebuild the sense of career identity differently, illness, and the question of what still gives the days meaning. I work with women and men through all of these.
My approach is warm, honest and practical. Reality Therapy gives my work its structure: we focus on what is within your control and build a plan you can act on. Within that I draw on CBT, ACT, solution-focused and trauma-informed practice, neuroscience-informed and somatic approaches, and career development theory. You will be listened to carefully, and you will also leave with something to do. I believe there are many valid ways to live a good life, and my role is to help you find yours.
I have rebuilt my own life and career more than once, in more than one country. I know what change asks of people, and I am glad to walk it with you. Sessions are available in English and Persian.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
