I have the desire to enter the helping profession, as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor due in part to my experiences with living with a physical disability. I am honored to assist my clients to reach their full, unique potential. I currently have experience with work with children, adolescents and adults. My approach is to be an advocate and a guide in collaborating with my clients to find ways to positively improve their own lives; not to make decisions for them.
§ In addition to my year and a half experience with my practicum and internship, I have employment history with outpatient therapy services since July 27th, 2020, honing my skills.
§ I have worked with people of all ages who have found themselves in difficult situations. I believe I can best help by assisting them to be a self-advocate: as independent and successful as possible. The current services I can provide are individual and family Outpatient therapy. I currently use Person Centered Theory to build rapport with the clients, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, alongside therapeutic activities to assist them with expressing themselves, their needs and solving their own problems.
§ I completed my practicum in an outpatient setting primarily working with children. I have completed my internships in an inpatient hospital setting serving people of all ages. I used Person Centered Theory to build rapport with the children and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in individual therapeutic sessions, alongside therapeutic activities to assist them with expressing themselves and their needs. In the inpatient setting, I used Person Centered Theory to build rapport with all the clients in the group counseling sessions. I also used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy to help them obtain and implement coping skills, long term and short term goals. I have clinical experience using cognitive behavioral, solution-focused and person-centered theories, while providing a variety of counseling services in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
