Hi, I’m Becky, a qualified counsellor, supporting adults and young people through a wide range of emotional difficulties, life experiences and personal challenges.
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you have never experienced therapy before. My aim is to provide a warm, relaxed and confidential space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about whatever is happening for you, without fear of judgement or criticism.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I don't believe that one approach fits everyone. At the heart of my work is a person-centred approach, where you are treated as the expert on your own life and we work collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you. Where appropriate, I can also draw upon different therapeutic approaches and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, Gestalt therapy and coaching techniques. This allows me to adapt the way we work to suit you as an individual rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model of therapy.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 qualification in Counselling Young People. Alongside my work with adults, I have gained extensive experience working with children and young people through counselling organisations and specialist bereavement services.
Throughout my work, I have supported clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-esteem and confidence, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, separation, emotional and domestic abuse, childhood experiences and trauma, sexual trauma, stress, overwhelm and difficulties navigating significant changes in their lives.
Sometimes you may know exactly what has brought you to counselling. At other times, you may simply know that something doesn't feel right, that you're struggling to cope in the way you usually would, or that patterns in your life keep repeating and you aren't sure how to change them. You don't need to arrive with everything worked out — understanding what is happening and what you need can become part of the therapeutic process.
My role isn't to tell you what to do or to make decisions for you. Instead, I aim to help you understand yourself more deeply, explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be affecting you, recognise patterns that are keeping you stuck, and develop ways of moving forward that feel meaningful and achievable for you.
Most importantly, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling. I therefore aim to bring warmth, empathy, honesty and authenticity into our sessions, creating a space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are.
Whatever has brought you here, we can begin by exploring it together.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
