Welcome to BetterHelp and to the next step in seeking support.

Reaching out for help can feel daunting, especially if you've been carrying things on your own for a long time.

My name is Rachel and I am a UK-based, BACP-registered Person-Centred Psychotherapist with over four years of experience in private practice. Alongside my counselling work, I have supported people affected by trauma, domestic abuse, family difficulties, and mental health challenges. These experiences continue to shape the warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth way I work with clients today.

I offer a supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is going on for you. Sometimes people come to therapy with a clear issue they want help with. Other times, they simply know something doesn't feel right.

Alongside my person-centred approach, I also work somatically and am a qualified EFT Practitioner (Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping) and a qualified Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Practitioner.

Some of my main areas of specialist interest include domestic abuse and toxic relationship dynamics, sexual wellbeing and intimacy concerns, OCD and intrusive thoughts, ADHD and neurodivergence, trauma, and mental health difficulties.

I have extensive experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse and coercive control. This may include helping you recognise unhealthy relationship patterns, make sense of trauma bonding, cycles of abuse, and toxic relationship dynamics, or rebuild your confidence and trust in yourself after difficult experiences. Whether you are questioning a relationship, trying to understand what has happened, or looking to move forward, therapy can provide a safe space to explore this at your own pace.

I also work with intrusive thoughts and OCD-related difficulties, including thoughts that can feel frightening, confusing, or out of character. These experiences can be incredibly distressing, and many people carry them in silence because of shame or fear of being judged.

Alongside this, I support people experiencing compulsive sexual behaviours, intimacy and sexual wellbeing concerns, ADHD and neurodivergence, relationship difficulties, trauma, anxiety, low mood, and issues around self-worth and shame.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, understood, and able to talk about things without fear of judgement. Together, we can explore what's happening, make sense of difficult experiences, and work towards the changes that feel important to you.

Whatever has brought you here, you are welcome to reach out, no matter how big, small, shameful, confusing, or uncomfortable your concerns may feel. Nothing is too much, too little, or too difficult to talk about.

Warmly

Rachel

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
